In selecting a subject for this assignment, I suggest you choose an event that has stayed with you for reasons yet to be discovered or articulated. Begin with a freewrite and describe the experience in great detail, taking care to SLOW DOWN and recall vivid sensory details. Later, you’ll want to turn your attention to the significance as you seek to reveal how this experience has changed you in some way, even if only subtly.
Evaluation: Your readers will be looking for you to make use of all appropriate sensory details so they can “experience” the event for themselves. We will also want you to clearly articulate how this experience has impacted you or altered your understanding.
