In Wild, Frank the farmer says, “It’s one thing for a man to take off on a hike like this, but a woman is a whole new thing.” Construct an argument about how our culturally constructed gender stereotypes hinder women or help women when it comes to long-distance journeys alone and come to a conclusion about any changes you think are needed and how they might be implemented. Use quotations and scenes from the film as well as any anecdotes or examples from your own life to back up your claims.
