Stakeholder analysis is crucial for due to its ability to help management to identify and prioritize stakeholders. The stakeholders in this university include students, research and academic research bodies and the corporate sector (Thompson, 2001). Moreover, Marić (2013) argues that the stakeholder sector also comprises the employees, government, administration, joint venture members and the community. Discussion

The most crucial stakeholders include the government, administration and the corporate community. The government is important due to its role in the education control through the ministry of education and in financing the institution.  The university’s administration position is due to its role in the overall control of the running of the institutions. The corporate community determines the mode of teaching to meet the industrial skills required and have high expectations of the institution. There is need for close management of these stakeholders (Thompson, 2011).

Research and academic bodies play a role in knowledge creation and procession. Joint venture members have considerable influence on the institution, but their expectations are not crucial. On the other hand, the community has minimal influence and expectations from the institution. According to Thompson (2011), the needs of these stakeholders should be satisfied. The community expects social responsibility from the institution and hence requires being monitored.

The student category can have low or high expectations in the University (Chapleo & Simms, 2010). The expectation depends on student’s category. The postgraduates and the alumni usually have minimal interest and influence. On the other hand, the undergraduates have high interest. Employees have a similar case whereby the non-teaching staff have minimal interest compared to teaching staff. These stakeholders should be kept informed of the expected changes.
