Each student will author a Community Profile paper. The paper will consist of zip code, census tract, or community map, general demographic characteristics, community history (if available/accessible), relevant community needs, issues, and problems. relevant community issues and needs and description of noteworthy community assets, with APA citations.
Required: Students will complete an inventory of community assets and transfer data and pictures to create a Community Asset Map as a part of the paper.
Paper must include ONE SUGGESTION TO ADDRESS ONE OF THE IDENTIFIED community needs, problems, or deficits.
Papers must conform to APA guidelines INCLUDING TABLES AND FIGURES.
The community that was chosen is in Memphis, TN known as North Memphis the subdivision is called New Chicago Area

Using your Community Profile paper, develop a Power Point (or other presentation software ie. Prezi) develop a presentation to describe your community.
Each presentation must include:
Title Page
Population demographics (People count, race, ages, sex/gender, educational attainment, income levels, costs and/or of houses, crime stats)
An Asset Map/Inventory
Needs Map
Photos of the landscape i.e. houses, churches, schools, banks, rivers, streams, bridges, colleges/universities and other important data ie. Crime stats, educational attainment levels, & hospitals/medical centers
