Instruction

Write a concise academic paper on an assessment challenge that requires informed scholarship to address. There should be at least 4 listed readings, and 2 unlisted readings, cited in your paper.

 

The paper should provide succinct clarity and informed scholarship on an assessment and learning challenge in your specific context and relate to issues or content discoursed in this module. Its focus should be in identifying the underlying assumptions and issues of a presenting problem and unpacking and discussing the ramifications and implications of the problem.

 

Challenge: The paper should identify and unpack a needful Assessment Change. This can involve identifying an existing problem, an unrealized potential, or underlying issues/fault lines that cannot be ignored. It can be ideological [e.g., the notion of meritocracy], conceptual [how can assessment/learning be explained to teachers], practical [how schools should understand and use assessment for learning], strategic [how can AfL reform learning despite teacher …], etc.

 

Content:    The challenge should be relevant to any of the topics that are specifically addressed in the sessions [including the SDSs] in this module. Please consult the tutors if you wish to address a different topic.
