Use the NIOSH app or an alternate Android app to conduct a noise survey. Run a continuous measurement for a minimum of 15 minutes. You can conduct this noise survey in any location under any conditions you wish.
Write a short report about your noise survey. Download or send your results so you can include them with the report.
Include the following in your report:
Which app you used.
A screen shot or a download of the results.
A description of the location and conditions during the survey, including any noise sources.
The settings you used. Note that some Android apps have limited settings in their free versions. If you have a choice, choose settings that correspond to the NIOSH standard. If you do not have a choice, describe the settings you used. If you found the app to be limited, elaborate.
The results of the survey, including how noise levels compared to an 8-hour limit of 85 dBA [including dose]. If your app does not provide that information, remember that you can use the OHCOW calculator.
