We’ll hear more about nutrient pollution and eutrophication [and hypoxia, dead zones, red tides, etc] on Monday, but to prepare for that discussion, find two mitigation strategies that are used or recommended to reduce the amount of nutrients that are flowing into waterways [streams, lakes, oceans, etc] as a result of anthropogenic activities. For each, briefly describe the practice or strategy, including 1] how it might work, with reference to the relevant biogeochemical cycles that we’ve discussed in class, and 2] some practical considerations that might limit the adoption of the strategy. A paragraph for each strategy is sufficient, but [and this is good practice for the tests] I’ll be looking for you to draw on concepts that we’ve discussed in class
