Williams (Maddux & Winstead, 2015) refers to anxiety as a psychosocial problem and discusses the classical view of mood disorders. For this assignment, prepare a white paper in which you examine these two theories to evaluate what, if any, difference results from these two distinct ways of conceptualizing these problems. Include the following in your white paper:
Explain how the research models related to mood disorders differ from those of psychosocial anxiety problems.
Analyze noted differences in origin or treatment between anxiety as described as a psychosocial disorder and mood disorders as classified by the DSM. Then, examine the similarities.
Use your viewpoint to determine if the difference in conceptualization results in important differences in types of treatment or validity of research of these problems. Explain.
Support your assignment with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.
Length: 5-7 pages, not including title and reference pages
