Open the file Materials for Toddler Class in this module, browse through the furniture and materials, and list the experiences [provided by materials and/or furniture] that foster perceptual development, and specify which senses are being developed. You should have twenty of them.
Follow this format:
Plates for a snack [experience: eating finger food]; senses: smell, taste, touch, and sight.
Look at a mirror panel: [experience: looking at their own image in the mirror, touching the mirror]; senses: touch, sight.
Play and learn activity gym [experience: laying on back or tummy, kicking the toys that are hanging, attempting to catch the toy with a hand]; senses: touch, sight, hearing.
Now, imagine you had a child with a visual or hearing impairment in the program. How would you adapt these experiences for this child? Pick five of the above experiences and describe the adaptation.
