Write an essay on Computers in Voting [use a different name, though]. Look at the voting systems in two different areas in the United States that use computers, and compare them, particularly noting any differences. Given today’s volatile political environment, note if there are any legal differences about who can vote, or what they have to do to be able to vote. The different areas you are looking at will probably be different counties, depending on how things are set up. For instance, the way voting is handled in Los Angeles County, where I worked, is different than the way it is done in any other county. Much of the information about voting in Los Angeles County can be found from the office of the Register-Recorder/County Clerk. Other counties may work differently. Some things to be aware of:
1. What advantages does the use of computers offer?
2. Specific items under #1 could be things like ease of use, expense, and speed.
3. How would the use of computers make the election more or less secure?
