Students are required to write a 1,000 word essay (minimum) that will be graded according to the standards proper grammar, spelling punctuation, proper and proper word usage. Students will not receive credit for this assignment if they fail to meet the 1,000 word length requirement. Students may wish to write more than 1,000 words and that is acceptable. Student essays will be graded on the basis of the accuracy of their answers, grammar, spelling, punctuation and minimum length requirements. The purpose of this essay is to give students the opportunity to practice their writing skills while ensuring that they are engaged in the materials from the beginning of the course Students who do not submit the first essay will be dropped from the course for non-attendance.
